Dear Colleagues!
We are pleased to inform all of our respected colleagues, who have already visited our meetings and will visit them in the future as well, that according to our tradition, the next Membrane-Transport Conference will be organized between 20-23 May, 2008.
The main topics of the conference in 2008. will include among others functioning of the ion channels, interactions between hormones-receptors, studies on the molecular mechanisms of sign transport processes through stem cells, membrane proteins and membranes. Of course, it is our pleasure to accept any lessons and posters demonstrating resuts of cell biological, molecular biological and biochemical studies in connection with membranes and biological transport processes.
While organizing the scientific programme, our aim is to welcome the home key researchers of the special fields from institutes belonging to universities, to the Academy of Science, to pharmaceutical factories or to any other research-developmental institutions, in order they informed us on their recent results.
Because of its multidisciplinary character, the Membrane-Transport Conference has always been an attractive meeting point, where the results of our domestic research work are demonstrated. The wide spectrum of the interest of the participants (biochemistry, cell biology, biophysics, immunology, genetics, physiology, pharmacology) has always provided wide range of possibilities for those working in the basic, clinical and applied research fields to exchange their views. Several generations of research workers can be found among the participants (senior researchers, founders of this conference serial, internationally recognized leader professors, PhD candidates, other students preparing their dissertations), that is why this conference will always be a valuable forum for postgraduation of the young research workers as well. All of this is combined with a really friendly and familiar atmosphere, which has contributed to the success of these meetings for many years. The organizators will do their best for this positive tradition to be developed even further.
The venue of the conference similarly to the previous years will be Hotel Kapitány. It is possible for us here to organize all lectures, poster-sections and exhibitions at one place.
An announcement for the Kovács Tibor prize:
Similarly to the previous years, the Kovács Tibor prize will be awarded by the committee for two young researchers less than 35 years on the basis of the abstract and professional curriculum vitae sent by the competitors. The prize winners are to give their 20 minutes lecture on the first day of the conference (including the discussion on the lecture as well) after the opening ceremony. The deadline of sending the competition material is the 1st of April, 2008. Competitors are asked to send their competition material to the address of the professional organizators, to Dr. Gergely, Pál (gpal@dote.hu) and Dr. Erdődi, Ferenc (erdodi@dote.hu).
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Gergely Pál and Dr. Erdődi Ferenc
